With the snow melting away and spring slowly appearing, we decided to venture out to one of the famous waterfalls in NH – knowing very little about the trouble ahead :). Started off early on a sunday morning, we reached the base, parked, took out all my gears in a back pack and started the hike towards Bemis Brook Falls- which branches out of the main Arethusa falls trail. The initial few steps were easy ( and i’m not a hiker..) but as we started to go deep, things started to become difficult. One thing we did not account for was the “layers of Ice” that had not melted and had covered the hiking trail.
Being a novice hiker, I was on my sneakers and the struggle started.. Walked/treaded carefully on the banks of the trail, climbing up and down a few rocks, balancing through the complex tree roots, finally managed to get closer to the waterfalls. The hike from there to the main falls was almost a vertical climb and decided to venture that for another time… It was adventurous and a tough one (for me) but it was worth it… After this, drove to another gorgeous and gigantic Silver cascade waterfalls as well…here comes a few snaps from that trip…
